My Review of Suddenly Forbidden by Ella Fields

I thought he'd always be mine,
even when I was forced to say goodbye.

We were never meant to let go,
but it happened anyway.
Too bad I didn’t know someone was waiting to take my place, or I would've held on a lot tighter.

Two years later, we were exactly where we'd always planned to be.
I'd kept my promise.
He'd forgotten all about his.
Not only had he moved on, but the person he'd moved on with was my best friend, leaving me to begin college with a broken heart.

I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you some other guy stepped in, repaired my shattered pieces, and made me smile again.

This isn't that kind of story.

My heart might have been broken,
but it refused to fall out of love.

My Review
2 Stars

This book has been on my radar for a while now but unfortunately it was just an ok book for me.
I'm going to keep this short since there's really not much I have to say. I went into this book blind and while I had no problem at all with the content, I just had a hard time getting into the story. The writing was good, but I found the storyline totally typical and predictable. I also had trouble relating to the heroine. I found her almost pathetic and the fact that she couldn't pull herself together after so much time and was still pining away was really irritating. This is merely a personal preference for me as I honestly usually don't care for weak heroines and in my opinion Daisy was a weak character.
Obviously the majority of people that read this really enjoyed it, and even though it wasn't for me I would definitely check out another book by Ella Fields in the future!
