Review of Heartbreaker by Logan Chance

Coming back to sell my childhood home should've been easy. Nothing in life is easy. Especially when Catherine Wells is determined to make it hard. And by hard, I mean, well... hard.

She's sweet and feisty and determined to get under my skin in every way imaginable.

Now, I have something new to focus on.

I shouldn't even be thinking about her.

I should just walk away.

They call me a heartbreaker but they've never met Catherine Wells.

My Review
5 Stars

Okay so I'm really fucking excited right now. I don't even know where to start. I guess I'll start with the fact that I read Logan Chance's books for the first time a few days ago. For me when I find a "new to me" author that I like I totally stalk the rest of their books to see if I'd be interested in them. I came across Heartbreaker and gave it a go.

Let me preface this by saying that my last 5 star read was in April, fucking April. There are many reasons for this. The number 1 reason being that I don't 5 star books that aren't truly 5 stars for me. I average around 4 to 5 books a week and in my opinion a 5 star book is one I can't put down, can't stop thinking about, and pretty much ignore my entire family because I just want to freaking read. Example: My 2 year old told me she had to go potty yesterday and my response was "cool don't fall in."

Okay onto the story. Booker is in town to sell his childhood home and right from the start we know something is off with him, he's hiding something. Cat is a single mom who is trying to build her landscaping  career. Booker and Cat get off on the wrong foot immediately but being that Booker's house is in dire need of work he hires Cat to help him with his backyard.

The two obviously spend a lot of time together but it's obvious something is going on with Booker, something serious and something deep. This whole time I'm thinking crap this secret better not be stupid because it's being set up to be something truly heartbreaking. Also I come from a mystery/thriller background when it comes to books so I'm always predicting and thinking ahead on what the secret could be. I have to say I'm always a bit disappointed if I figure it out, however there is no way in hell I would have ever predicted what Booker was hiding and it was pretty major!
This book had all the feels for me, their flirting back and forth was really cute and made me smile a lot.

"Don't," she whispers. "Why are you doing this?"
I scrub a hand over my face. "Because you're out of control, Cat. And I think you need a guy like me."
She laughs, and it's cute. "Oh really? I'm out of control. Ha."
Yes. Very unruly."

Another thing I love about this book is that Cat was a strong minded heroine. My biggest pet peeves in books is a weak heroine and so far Logan's female characters have all been strong. Ok rant/review over, read this fucking book right now because it is AMAZING!!!
