My Review of The Divorce by Nicole Strycharz

Jenzy: I love my husband, but he doesn't see me anymore. We were college sweethearts and for seven years I've been his wife. Five of those years were bliss; the last two have been a long fall from grace.

He’s the love of my life, the sexy and smart man I saw my future with, but now I don’t think he sees it too. I’m tired of not being seen, I’m tired of not being heard, and I’m tired of being in love alone.
I was his optimistic hippie girl that he couldn’t get enough of. Now I’m just his annoyance.

So I told him, I finally found the backbone and this is our story...

Chris: My wife just told me she wants a divorce. What the hell do I say to that? I thought we were fine-, well fine is a bad word, I thought we were okay. Doesn't matter what I think because she's moving out and I can't really let this happen.

Yeah, she annoys me, we’re total opposites, but I knew that when I met her, she hasn’t changed…maybe I have? I was her anchor, her safety, her home. Now I’m that guy that’s wrecked her and there are plenty of men willing to repair the damage I did.

So I have a plan. Find out what happened to change my affection for her within the last two years, and win her back before someone else does, because I still love her, and she still loves me...I guess...

My Review
2 Star Review

love second chance books so I was super excited to read this book. There are some grammatical/spelling errors but the main issue I had with this book was the characters. I took issue with both Jenzy and Chris.
Chris and Jenzy have been married for 5 years but the last 2 years he's basically ignored her and made her feel like shit, so she decides to ask him for a divorce. Of course now he realizes that shit just got real and he needs to get his head out of his ass. I should add that Chris and Jenzy are total opposites. Jenzy is a hippie and believes in natural remedies and such, while Chris is a realist and believes in exact science and facts. Jenzy meets Moses a fellow hippy like herself before she asks Chris for a divorce, so he's well aware of her situation.
Chris decides to take her on adventures she's always wanted to go on in order to try to win her back. At this point I'm cool with the characters.
Spoiler Alert Ahead!!!!!!
While Chris is taking her on these adventures we get to see their past and how he was a dick and ignored her in public when they were in college. Fast forward to the breaking point for Jenzy. Chris didn't invite her to his office party because he was embarrassed by her and she found out. Fast forward to him trying to win her back and he's still being a dick to her. I mean he said some stuff that can't be taken back. Jenzy keeps going back and forth between him and Moses and I'm like girl, your hubby is still treating you like shit and you keep saying no but then letting him drag you along. Jenzy is very wishy washy and clearly has trouble making decisions but this was ridiculous and very annoying. And what about Moses, like why is he hanging around for a fucking year when they haven't had sex and he knows she still sees her husband.  Finally coming to the end of the story and Chris pretty much admits that 2 years ago he turned down a job and wished he took it and pursued Jenzy afterwards. That's Jenzy's final straw and I'm thinking good she's going to wind up with Moses, a guy that treats her well. Nope I was wrong, Chris writes Moses a letter, Moses shows said letter to Jenzy and now Jenzy runs back to Chris. He apologizes and says he didn't mean what he said and all is forgiven. They literally go back and pretend all this shit didn't happen. Like WHAT. Are you serious??? Ugh I was so pissed.
However, even though I didn't care for these characters, I would definitely try another one of her books!
