Review of Heath by K.Webster and Nikki Ash

This isn’t a typical love story. This is a story of what happens when love is so powerful and all-consuming that it has the ability to destroy everyone involved. It’s definitely not pretty and it’s certainly not a fairytale, but it’s their story and it couldn’t be told any other way.

Have you ever read a book where you really didn't know how it was going to turn out in the end?? Well consider Heath one of those books. I truly didn't know if this was going to be an HEA or not. I didn't know if it could be, considering the story itself.
The story alternates between past and present but not in the typical way you're thinking. It's kind of told in a fairytale fashion. Emily a young 18 year old teenager, is torn between two boys, Porter, the guy she thinks she likes but who seems to be a ladies man, and Finn, her best friend since she's 12, who's extremely wealthy. Emily is just a middle class girl and doesn't see herself fitting in to the rich lifestyle. She doesn't view herself as being an equal to Finn. As she goes back and forth texting the two boys her nanny decides to it's time to tell her the story of Heath and Catrina.

Heath was a homeless boy on the street when Catrina's dad Rufus took him in. Catrina and Heath become best friends and when they get older they develop a relationship and fall in love. However, this love has to be kept secret as Heath does not come from money. Elliot however does and Catrina is expected to marry him even if she doesn't love him. Naturally Heath and Elliot hate each other. I can't really say much more because so much happens and everything from here on out would be considered a spoiler, but I will say this. MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD  When Catrina died, I almost couldn't believe it. I was pissed, anyone that knows me knows that I hate when a main character dies especially the hero or heroine. I also didn't know how the story would continue without her but then realized there's got to be another heroine in this story. Sure enough I come to Part 2 END OF SPOILER

Once I finally saw where this story was headed I was happy. This story is about true love, taking advantage of true love, how love can make you do unthinkable things, and literally make you crazy. You are going to feel a lot when it comes to Heath, you're going to love him at times, hate him at times, want to beat the crap out of him at times but in the end I personally felt sorry for him. He really lived his life with the intent of seeking revenge on those that he felt wronged him. He was truly a lost and tortured soul.
